Masayuki Kuwata

Masayuki Kuwata is a Sr. Manager of the Open Source Promotion Section at Sony Group Corporation, where he drives open source strategy across Sony's diverse and global business units as the Open Source Promotion WG Leader under the Software Strategy Committee. He brings over 25 years of software development experience, and has been leading Sony's OSPO initiatives since 2022. He is the organizer of the Japan OSPO Local Meetup, a community held in Japanese, supported by the TODO Group and OpenChain Japan WG, and recognized as one of the most active OSPO local communities in the world. Kuwata has been a recurring speaker at Open Source Summit Japan, North America, and Europe, presenting on topics ranging from quantitative methods for evaluating open source contribution value, to group-wide strategies for identifying and engaging with key open source projects.
