Important information
Please aim to arrive between 8:00 AM and 9:00 AM to collect your passes. This will help you avoid lines and ensure you are seated on time for the 10:00 AM conference start time. Registration will begin at 8:30 AM, and visitors will be permitted through the security screening starting at 9:00 AM.

You must bring a national ID or Passport. Please wear your UN Security Pass at all times inside the UN.
Event badges are valid for the entire week. Please do not lose your badge, as another one cannot be provided.

Please make your travel arrangements and book your hotel accommodation as early as possible. New York City is especially busy during this time of year, and hotel availability may become limited. Participants are responsible for arranging their own travel and accommodation.

Within United Nations premises, all persons are required to comply with safety and security regulations, as well as the rules and procedures of the organization. Any act that disrupts the normal functioning of the organization’s programmatic activities, such as public displays of any form (including, but not limited to, clothing, banners, placards or other written or visual means, as well as vocal/audio sounds, gatherings, or demonstrations of any kind, including passive) is not allowed. 

All individuals present on the United Nations premises are expected to fully cooperate with United Nations security officers at all times. Refusal to comply with applicable regulations may result in temporary detention, or removal from or denial of access to the premises in accordance with Section 10 of the United Nations Headquarters Agreement and ST/AI/2019/5, entitled “Authority of United Nations Security Officers”.

Badge Pick Up

Participants who have registered for the event and have received confirmation will receive their name-specific Event Badge to access the meeting venue if they do not hold a valid UN Grounds Pass. Please note that Event Badges are non-transferrable and registration on the spot will not be accepted.

Event Badges will be distributed from 08:30 – 10:00:
a. Badge Pick Up on 22 and 23 June will take place at the Visitor Check-In Office (801 1st Avenue at 45th  Street). 
b. Badge Pick Up on 24 and 25 June will take place next to the UN Visitors Security Entrance (1st Avenue, between 45th and 46th Street)

Volunteers will be present to hand you your security pass. Visitors arriving late will not be permitted. UN Missions, Special Envoys, and employees with valid UN Grounds access may also enter via the Staff Entrance (located at 42nd Street and 1st Avenue).

 Please show your confirmation email to receive your badge. You must provide a government-issued ID or passport to collect your badge and proceed through security screening. Badges must be kept visible at all times while on UN premises. Please ensure you do not lose this badge; it is valid for the entire week and another one cannot be provided.

 Once you have received your badge, please proceed through security screening in order to access the United Nations building.

After you have passed the security screening, please direct yourself toward the ECOSOC Chamber.

Directions within UN Headquarters

Once you pass the security screening, cross the plaza and enter the United Nations Headquarters.

Inside, pass the round Visitors Information desk and exhibition space on your left, and veer to the left after the Guiding Tours area.

Present your security badge to the Security officer at the turnstile.

Take the elevator in front of you to the 3rd floor and turn left. The ECOSOC Chamber is located to your left. 

Transportation in New York City
Subway: Number 4, 5, 6, or 7 trains to Grand Central Station; walk East to 1st Avenue.
Buses: Coming from lower Manhattan, bus M15 will stop at 1st Avenue in front of the United Nations. From uptown, bus M15 will run on 2nd Avenue and stop on 46th and 42nd Streets. Buses M42 and M104 stop at 42nd Street and 1st Avenue in both directions.
New York City taxis are available from any destination.
Ride-sharing services, such as Uber or Lyft, are also available. Please register online and get a fare estimate to ride with Uber.
Please find a list of hotel suggestions in the vicinity of the United Nations Headquarters. Reservations should be made directly with the hotel and must be booked with a credit card. Please check with the hotel for their cancellation policy. 
We encourage all attendees to make your travel arrangements and book your hotel accommodation as early as possible. New York City is especially busy during this time of year, and hotel availability may become limited. Typically, when requesting reasonable accommodations for a conference or meeting at the UN Headquarters, participants must do this by contacting the organizers of that particular event ahead of time. Please note that this does not guarantee that all requested accommodations will be provided.
Participants and visitors with disabilities can contact and/or visit the Accessibility Centre for assistive tools and technologies; computer stations with assistive devices including screen readers, Braille and other assistive keyboards; portable DAISY players, hearing aids, bone conduction headsets, specialized mice, and Braille notetakers. Wheelchair charging provisions with signage are located at various locations in the conference facilities.
Upon request, the UN can reserve specific seats for persons with disabilities with ample space to maneuver, and also additional seats for personal assistants, sign language interpreters, and/or captioners.
Upon request ahead of time, additional time can be given to presenters with disabilities, but is not guaranteed.
The UN Headquarters is continually upgrading and making its website more accessible.
Upon request, real-time captioning (in English and Spanish) and sign language interpretation are available, but not guaranteed due to lack of capacity and resources.

Inclusive Access to the UN Headquarters
When requesting a taxi or paratransit to and from the United Nations Headquarters, the drop-off and pick-up location is at 44th Street and 1st Avenue.
To enter the United Nations Headquarters, there is an access ramp at the 46th Street and 1st Avenue Visitors’ Entrance. After exiting the security screening area, there are entrances allocated for persons with disabilities to enter the General Assembly Building marked with signs. Upon entering the building, there is an information desk to ask for additional information. Throughout the UN complex, security officers will guide anyone who needs assistance to the appropriate turnstiles to access the respective areas.
The UN Headquarters is located on 1st Avenue between 42nd and 48th Streets. The delegate entrance is located near 42nd Street, and the visitors’ entrance is near 46th Street. Additional information can be found in the Accessibility Centre: Map of the UN Headquarters.
