
Kasim Sodangi is a Senior Policy Advisor to the Minister of Communication, Innovation and Digital Economy of Nigeria, leading efforts to establish the Nigerian Data Exchange Centre and coordinating the implementation of national digital economy policies. He was a member of the first cohort of the United Nations Digital Public Infrastructure Safeguards Working Group, and he contributed to the development of the Universal Safeguards Framework for Digital Public Infrastructure.
With over 15 years of experience spanning digital economy policy, regulatory compliance, and innovation governance, Kasim has held senior roles in regulatory affairs, digital rights advocacy, and fintech policy. He has also played a key role in drafting landmark national instruments, including the Nigerian Startup Act, the Nigerian Digital Economy Bill, the E-Government Bill, and the National Artificial Intelligence Strategy.
Kasim holds an LLM in Information Technology and Intellectual Property Law from the University of Sussex and has extensive expertise in digital identity, data protection, and digital public policy.
