
Jonathan Valdes is a digital transformation enabler driving open-source innovation within the Transport Division of the United Nations Economic Commission for Europe.
Based in Geneva, he leads the eTIR National Application project — a Digital Public Good accelerating the implementation of the digital eTIR procedure and the connection to the eTIR International System, the Digital Public Infrastructure enabling secure, paperless trade across 70+ countries.
He actively promotes the adoption of open-source frameworks to accelerate global digital cooperation, working with governments, UN entities, and international partners.
With over 20 years of experience across the UN and private sector the US, in Asian and in Europe, Jonathan builds scalable, interoperable solutions that strengthen digital public infrastructure.
