
Hiroyuki Ishii is a Senior Architect and OSS Community Expert at Panasonic Automotive Systems, where he leads the establishment and operation of the company’s Open Source Program Office (OSPO) and drives its open source strategy across the organization. He plays a key role in aligning business, engineering, and open source communities to enable sustainable and responsible OSS adoption.
With over a decade of hands-on experience developing Linux-based automotive software platforms, Hiroyuki has been deeply involved in building automotive-grade systems empowered by open source at scale. Building on this background, he joined the Automotive Grade Linux (AGL) project in 2021 and has since served as a member of the AGL Steering Committee and the System Architecture Team, contributing to the project’s technical direction and ecosystem growth.
In addition to his industry role, Hiroyuki is active as a Linux Foundation Japan Evangelist, supporting open source collaboration and community development across Japan. Through this work, he helps bridge industry and open source communities, promoting practical and inclusive open source engagement.
