
An ardent open source evangelist, Evans has led the establishment of the Kenya OSPO, first in Africa. CEO of LANet Consulting Group Ltd, he is Kenya’s frontman at the Open Source Ecosystem Enabler (OSEE) Initiative, where he is working with ITU to support the Ministry of Information, Communications and the Digital Economy to implement the National Open Source Program Office (OSPO). The OSPO seeks to build Kenya's capacity to leverage open-source technologies for digital transformation and sustainable development with a focus on three strategic areas: capacity building, ecosystem creation, and improved coordination mechanisms around open source technologies.
