Emily Lovell

Dr. Emily Lovell is the Associate Director of the OSPO at UC Santa Cruz where she also holds a faculty appointment in the Computer Science and Engineering department. Across both roles, she is especially passionate about supporting new contributors through research, teaching and mentorship. Previously, Emily worked on the LilyTiny, a low-cost sewable open hardware microcontroller. She has a S.M. in Media Arts & Sciences from the MIT Media Lab and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UCSC.
