Carolina Azevedo

Chief of Strategic Communications and Information Integrity, United Nations Development Coordination Office

Carolina G. Azevedo is Chief of Strategic Communications and Information Integrity at the United Nations Development Coordination Office, where she leads strategic communications, information integrity and results reporting efforts across UN Country Teams worldwide. She brings 26 years of professional experience spanning journalism, international development and public sector communications, including more than 20 years within the United Nations system across health, development and political mandates in Brazil, Colombia and at headquarters in New York.

As a mentor for the GovStack Women in GovTech Challenge in her personal capacity, Carolina has supported emerging leaders working at the intersection of digital transformation and public service delivery. Her professional interests focus on how digital public infrastructure, artificial intelligence and strategic communications can strengthen public trust and support people-centred development. Her work increasingly explores how institutions can navigate increasingly complex digital and information environments.

Carolina holds a Master of Public Policy from Princeton University with a specialization in Science, Technology and Environmental Policy, an MSc in International Development from the London School of Economics and Political Science as a Chevening Scholar, an MBA from Fundação Getulio Vargas, and a BA in Journalism from PUC-Rio.
