
Anni Lai is a global community leader in open source and AI, with over 20 years of experience as a developer advocate, strategist, and community builder. She has worked across 30+ countries on 5 continents, collaborating with enterprises, startups, and public sector orgs to advance innovation through open collaboration.
Ms. Lai has spent 10+ years building open source communities, guided by a strong commitment to open innovation and inclusive participation. She currently serves on the Governing Board of the LF AI & Data Foundation and contributes to the LF Research Advisory Board, while also advising LF Europe and Kaiyuanshe. In addition, she serves as Co-Chair of the Generative AI Commons, promoting open, ethical, and responsible AI.
Prior to her current roles, Ms. Lai served on the governing boards of several leading open source foundations, including the Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF), OpenInfra Foundation, LF Edge, Open Container Initiative (OCI), and the Open Metaverse Foundation. She currently works at Futurewei, where she leads open source ecosystem development, and holds a MS in CS from San José State University and a BA in CS from Rutgers University.
