Ann Cathrin Riedel

Ann Cathrin Riedel is a publicist and expert on digital policy, administrative transformation, and democracy. As Managing Director of NExT e.V., she provides impulses for the modernisation of administration to use digitalisation as the key to a sustainable society and stable democracies.

Previously, she was responsible for international digital policy at the Friedrich Naumann Foundation for Freedom and headed LOAD e.V. – Association for Liberal Internet Policy from 2018 to 2024. In 2022, she was appointed to the Federal Government’s Digital Advisory Council and the Digital Council of the State of Saxony-Anhalt. She is an advisor to the think tank Centre for Middle East and Global Order (CMEG).

She has been honored several times for her commitment, including being named Young Leader in GovTech 2025 by Handelsblatt and Possible, awarded ‘Gold’ as ‘Women in eGovernment/Leadership’ in 2024 and 2025, named Young Leader of Atlantik-Brücke in 2023, and selected as one of Capital Magazine’s Top 40 under 40 in 2020 and 2025 in ‘Science and Society’.

Her expertise is regularly sought after by political bodies such as the German Bundestag. She publishes and speaks about digitalisation, administration, and geopolitics — including in her award-winning newsletter Ann Cathrin’s Digital Digest.
