
Andrea Duarte is an expert in public policy for digital payments, financial innovation, and FinTech development. She is an economist with a master’s degree in Economics from the National University of Colombia and a master’s degree in Public Policy and International Economics from Johannes Gutenberg University of Mainz, Germany. She specializes in the regulation and supervision of payment systems, FinTech, and digital assets, with a strong focus on emerging financial ecosystems. Currently, she advises the Payment Systems Department at the Central Bank of Colombia, where she leads the public policy and regulatory development of Bre-B, the country’s new interoperable fast payment system. Andrea has led the design of oversight frameworks for FinTech and PayTech and brings extensive experience in risk assessment across multiple sectors.
