Andrea Donath

Andrea Donath is the Programme Lead for the GovStack Initiative at GIZ. She brings over 20 years of experience in international cooperation, with a strong focus on policy advisory, private sector development, digital transformation, innovation, and strategic communication.

Before leading GovStack, Andrea headed GIZ’s product innovation team, working at the intersection of international cooperation, digital innovation, and private sector engagement. In this role, she led the development of innovative, primarily digital approaches to strengthen synergies between public and private sector interventions, including a digital matchmaking platform.

Andrea has extensive regional experience across Southeast Asia, Eastern Europe, and the Middle East. In the Palestinian Territories, she expanded GIZ’s portfolio across several sectors and led the PR and Communications Unit. Earlier in her career, she worked with the German Ministry of Finance on EU neighbourhood and research programmes implemented by GIZ.
